On October 11, 2024, we at Premier Value Provider, Inc. (PVP) conducted a leadership training session titled "Empathy in Leadership" for the key leaders of BCDA. Held at the BCDA Corporate Center this session focused on the essential role empathy plays in effective leadership.
Led by Alessandra T. Arpon, PhD, RPsy, CSCOP, an expert in organizational psychology, we explored empathy's impact on leadership. During the session, participants were introduced to Cognitive Empathy, Affective Empathy, and Compassionate Empathy, learning how these can enhance leadership effectiveness and foster a supportive workplace environment.
We also guided participants through practical techniques such as empathy mapping, active listening, and emotional validation. These tools were designed to help leaders connect more deeply with their teams and overcome empathy gaps caused by stress and time constraints.
We received excellent feedback from participants, who appreciated the clear, actionable insights provided throughout the session. Many shared that they felt more confident in leading with empathy and creating a more supportive workplace culture.
