We are thrilled to announce the successful completion of our 3-day public training program, HR Analytics MasterClass, held last February 5–7. The program was led by the highly skilled and engaging Dr. Marshall Valencia. This intensive and transformative training brought together HR professionals, business executives, and analysts from various industries, all eager to harness the power of data-driven decision-making in workforce management.
Day 1 Highlights: Building the Foundations
The first day set the stage with a thought-provoking exploration of HR Analytics and its transformative role in the business world. Dr. Valencia challenged participants to rethink traditional decision-making, highlighting the risks of relying on intuition, biases, and stereotypes. Through exercises and discussions, we delved into the psychological motivations behind analytics and how they align with achieving business goals.
Key discussions included:
The shift in business focus from tangible to intangible assets, with HR Analytics enabling the measurement of human capital’s impact on organizational success.
The introduction of the eight-step HR Analytics model, emphasizing the importance of a systematic approach without shortcuts.
Real-world case studies showcasing HR Analytics in action.
Hands-on exercises using Jamovi, a user-friendly analytics tool, allowed participants to apply concepts through T-tests, ANOVA, correlation, and regression analysis, forming a strong foundation for predictive analytics.

Day 2: Diving into Predictive Analytics
On the second day, participants moved from descriptive to predictive analytics, exploring tools and techniques to forecast outcomes like employee turnover and performance. Dr. Valencia guided the group through practical applications, including:
Key Drivers Analysis to understand engagement factors.
Predicting employee performance and retention using statistical models.
Recruitment and selection analytics to identify the best-fit candidates.
Participants gained confidence in applying predictive analytics to real-world HR scenarios, paving the way for impactful decision-making.

Day 3: Visualizing Data and Creating Dashboards
The final day focused on transforming data into actionable insights through visualization. Participants learned how to use Power BI to design professional, visually compelling dashboards. By the end of the session, attendees had created HR dashboards that effectively communicated data insights, aligning with business objectives.
The day concluded with discussions on best practices for implementing HR Analytics projects, from conceptualization to evaluation, ensuring that participants were equipped to apply their learnings to their respective organizations.
